The Athens Open Air Film Festival gifted Serifos an unforgettable two-day event filled with action and emotion
The Athens Open Air Film Festival traveled to Serifos and transformed the courtyard of the High School in Livadi into a beautiful outdoor cinema.
Smiling faces, island residents, visitors from different parts of the world, three distinct films, and refreshments with cool Fischer beer turned the days of July 7th - 8th into a festive cinematic event in Serifos.
On Friday, July 7th, and Saturday, July 8th, in collaboration with the Region of South Aegean and the Municipality of Serifos, the Athens Open Air Film Festival "traveled" the cinema to the island for a second consecutive year through three high-quality audiovisual screenings.
We started on Friday, in the presence of the Mayor of Serifos, Konstantinos Revithis, with the screening of Alfred Hitchcock's masterpiece "NORTH BY NORTHWEST." On Saturday, July 8th, we invited you to solve a lighthearted mystery with Robert Moore's classic "MURDER BY DEATH" and then the cinematic evening concluded touchingly with the commemorative screening of Lawrence Kasdan's masterpiece "THE BIG CHILL".
The audience was welcomed by the General Director of the Athens Open Air Film Festival and the Athens International Film Festival, Tatiana Pappa, and the editor-in-chief of CINEMA cinemagazine.gr, Panos Gkenas.
Many thanks for the support to the Region of South Aegean, George Hatzimarkos, the Mayor of Serifos, Konstantinos Revithis, and the architect, Anna Skiada, to whom the inspiration (and significant assistance) for this wonderful cinematic two-day event belongs.
