14th AOAFF powered by DEI: 50 years of Buñuel's "The Phantom of Liberty" at Eleftherias Park

The 14th Athens Open Air Film Festival powered by DEI, in collaboration with the Plein Air Festival of the French Institute of Greece, celebrated the 50th anniversary of Luis Buñuel's sardonic, surreal "The Phantom of Liberty."

 

On Tuesday, July 16th, at the fitting venue of Eleftherias (Freedom) Park, the 14th Athens Open Air Film Festival powered by DEI and the Plein-Air Festival of the French Institute of Greece brought Buñuel's masterpiece back to the big screen in a digitally restored version.

The 50th-anniversary screening marked both France's national holiday and the restoration of democracy in Greece.
