Colette (Kirsten Dunst) and Chester MacFarland (Viggo Mortensen) are a seemingly perfect American couple. While exploring Athens, circa 1962, they meet fellow American tourist guide Rydal (Oscar Isaac), but a murder will turn their otherwise pleasant acquaintance into a dangerous triangle of dependence, deceit and rivalry.

Kicking off at the sun-kissed Sacred Rock of the Acropolis and travelling all the way to Knossos and Istanbul, "Two Faces of January" tells the tale of three people hopelessly trying to escape their guilty secrets and personal obsessions.

"Drive" screenwriter Hossein Amini, adapts and directs Patricia Highsmith's novel of the same name (author of "The Talented Mr. Ripley", among other titles), offering Dunst the opportunity to try on the role of femme fatale, while the experienced Viggo Mortensen (nominated for an Oscar for "Eastern Promises" ) and the up-and-coming Isaac ("Inside Llewyn Davis") are the ideal partners for this deadly love triangle.

The leading trio aren't the only protagonists in "Two Faces of January". The locations are equally important, including the Acropolis, the winding streets of Plaka and the archaeological site of Knossos. The cast is completed by a host of young Greek actors, such as Sokratis Alafouzos, Nikos Mavrakis, Omiros Poulakis and Eugenia Dimitropoulou. N.S.
