The overnight Odyssey of a gang, wrongfully accused of a crime they didn't commit, as they desperately look for a passage into safety. This storyline is the springboard for a fascinating and startlingly illustrated nocturnal journey to the far edge of New York.

Elevating the action to another level, Walter Hill builds an eccentric universe where colors are vibrant and violence is intoxicating, depicted with perfectly choreographed elegance.

In his hands, the city is transformed into a modern jungle full of urban tribes, where scenes alternate lightning fast in true comic book style.

The end-result is a dazzling film that made quite the impression when it was first released and still hasn't aged a day, even if it is based on one of the oldest historical texts ever written, Xenophon's "The Persian Expedition"! L.K.
