"Suddenly Last Summer" was a meeting of giants that somehow managed to camouflage homosexuality, cannibalism and incest as a family drama!
In the film, Violet Venable mourns the death of her only son Sebastian, while attempting to bribe neurosurgeon Dr. Cukrowicz to give her niece, Catharine, a lobotomy.
Her ulterior motive is to keep the details of Sebastian's unfortunate death a secret, as Catharine was the only eye witness. Mysterious and deeply enigmatic, "Suddenly Last Summer" still maintains its seductive powers, tantalizing audiences with thinly veiled hints of abysmal human behavior. Ph. V.
