14th AOAFF powered by DEI: "Mandabi" in the Gardens of the French School of Archaeology
In the packed and idyllic French School of Archaeology in Athens, the wonderful screenings of the 14th Athens Open Air Film Festival powered by DEI began on Wednesday, July 3rd, in collaboration with the beloved Plein Air Festival of the French Institute of Greece.
In the beautiful Garden of the French School of Archaeology in Athens, the gem of African cinema "Mandabi" directed by Ousmane Sembène was screened.
The devoted audience was welcomed by the President of the Athens Film Society, Maria Bobola, the French Ambassador to Greece, Laurence Auer, and the Audiovisual Attaché of the French Institute of Greece, Aimé Besson.
Thank you very much and we look forward to seeing you tonight at Alsos Petralonon to watch "Zodiac" for the first time in Greece in its full form, exactly as David Fincher originally envisioned, with six additional minutes from the cut that was shown in theaters worldwide and with a brand new digital processing overseen by the director himself.
Free admission, treats from @fischerbeer, and an important tip to arrive early to secure a seat.
